Coating Structure & Function
Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) Primer: This inner layer provides primary corrosion protection and ensures strong, permanent adhesion to the prepared steel pipe surface. It offers favorable cathodic disbondment properties and low water absorption.
Copolymer Adhesive Layer: This intermediate layer chemically bonds the epoxy primer to the outer polyethylene, ensuring the structural integrity of the entire coating system.
Polyethylene (PE) Outer Layer: This tough outer sheath provides superior mechanical protection against physical damage and environmental factors, complemented by good electrical insulation and low water absorption.
