This product is a large-diameter Spiral Submerged Arc Welded (SSAW) steel pipe engineered specifically for agricultural irrigation water transmission. Available in API 5L grades X42, X46, X52, and X56, it balances cost efficiency with load-bearing capacity, making it ideal for long-distance water mains, irrigation district trunk lines, and pump station pressure piping. The helical weld seam distributes hoop stress more evenly, offering superior pressure performance and wall-thickness economy compared to straight-seam welded pipe of the same diameter.

Why SSAW for Irrigation

1. Large Diameter at Low Cost
SSAW pipe can be produced in large diameters from narrower steel strip, achieving high raw material utilization and significant cost advantages in large-diameter irrigation trunk networks. Compared to ductile iron pipe of the same diameter, it is lighter in weight, greatly reducing transportation and installation difficulty.

2. Pressure Capacity Matched to Irrigation Conditions
The helical weld seam is oriented at an angle to the principal stress direction of the pipe body. Under identical pressure, the stress borne by the weld is only 75%–90% of that in straight-seam welded pipe, effectively handling water hammer surge and sustained pressure fluctuation in irrigation systems.

3. Adaptable to Complex Terrain
Long fixed lengths (up to 18 m) reduce the number of field welds and accelerate construction progress, making it especially suitable for hilly and mountainous areas, trench-crossing sections, and other common irrigation terrain conditions.

4. Mature Anti-Corrosion Systems
3PE external coating or cement mortar lining can be selected based on soil pH and water quality conditions. Design service life can reach 30+ years, reducing full-lifecycle maintenance costs.

5. Rational Grade Gradient
The strength gradient from X42 to X56 covers the complete demand spectrum from low-pressure branches to high-pressure trunk mains. Buyers can select precisely based on hydraulic calculations, avoiding material waste from over-specification.
