ASTM A53 Seamless Carbon Steel Pipe For Industrial Water Treatment

In industrial water treatment projects, pipelines are constantly exposed to hydraulic pressure, medium scouring and environmental corrosion. The tightness, pressure resistance and long-term stability of pipes directly affect the operational safety of the whole water treatment system. ASTM A53 Type S seamless carbon steel pipe is manufactured in strict accordance with ASTM A53/A53M American standard. It serves as a mainstream fluid transportation pipe for circulating water, wastewater, water reuse, purified water production and other industrial water treatment projects, widely supplied to overseas water utilities, power plants, chemical plants and mining water treatment projects.

Manufactured to ASTM A53/A53M standard, available in Grade A and Grade B for different pressure requirements in water treatment.

Grade A: Good ductility, easy fabrication, ideal for low-pressure water service with cost advantage.

Grade B: Superior mechanical performance, minimum yield strength 240MPa, tensile strength ≥415MPa, preferred for pressure pipe networks in water treatment.

The pipe is integrally formed by hot rolling or cold drawing without welding seams, fundamentally eliminating risks of seam corrosion cracking, water seepage and pipe burst. Compared with welded pipes, seamless carbon steel pipes show higher reliability under long-term continuous water flow, pressure fluctuation and buried installation, greatly cutting later inspection, maintenance and shutdown losses.

It features excellent machinability and weldability. On-site operations including cutting, beveling, bending, flanging and welding are available, adapting flexibly to complex pipe networks in water treatment plants for easy connection among pump stations, filters and heat exchangers. Standard carbon steel welding procedure works for site assembly, shortening construction period and lowering installation cost.

The bare black pipe can be customized with multiple anti-corrosion treatments, such as hot-dip galvanizing, 3PE and 3PP internal & external coatings. These coatings resist electrochemical corrosion from raw water, wastewater and soil. Suitable for both above-ground and buried pipelines. Internal & external coatings can be customized according to water pH value and salinity to carry fresh water, reclaimed water and mild sewage.

Full rigorous inspections are carried out before delivery, including hydrostatic test, chemical & mechanical analysis and non-destructive testing. Material Test Certificates (MTC) are provided for each batch with fully traceable quality, complying with acceptance requirements of overseas owners and third-party supervisors. All tests follow ASTM A53 specifications to guarantee mechanical property and tightness and reduce project acceptance risks.
