API 5L X52QS (also designated as L360QS) is a high-strength low-alloy (HSLA) quenched and tempered seamless line pipe strictly manufactured in accordance with the latest API 5L 45th edition standard. The marking "QS" represents quenched and tempered heat treatment plus superior sulfide stress cracking (SSC) resistance, making this grade specialized for sour service, low-temperature, and high-pressure oil & gas pipeline projects.
Different from conventional X52 steel pipes, X52QS undergoes precise quenching and tempering heat treatment, achieving uniform grain structure, excellent toughness, stable mechanical performance, and outstanding resistance to hydrogen-induced cracking (HIC) and sulfide stress corrosion. It is the preferred pipe material for onshore and offshore harsh working condition pipeline systems.
