FAQ

Q1: What is the difference between X65Q and X65QS seamless pipe?

A: Both grades adopt quenched and tempered process. X65Q is for general low-temperature service, while X65QS is upgraded for sour service. X65QS has stricter control on sulfur and phosphorus impurities, and must pass HIC and SSC anti-sulfur corrosion tests. It is forbidden to replace X65QS with X65Q in sulfur-containing oil and gas pipelines.

Q2: Can X65QS pipe be used for non-sour conventional oil and gas pipelines?

A: Yes, but it is not cost-effective. X65QS has higher manufacturing cost due to extra anti-corrosion tests and precise component control. For conventional non-sour pipelines without H₂S, ordinary API 5L X65 PSL2 seamless pipe is more economical.

Q3: What third-party inspection reports can you provide?

A: We can provide original factory mill test certificate (MTC), API 5L certification, HIC/SSC test report, SGS/BV third-party inspection report, hydrostatic test report and ultrasonic flaw detection report to meet project bidding and customs clearance requirements.

Q4: What anti-corrosion coatings are available for X65QS pipes?

A: We support customized surface treatments: black anti-rust paint, transparent anti-rust oil, 2PE/3PE external anti-corrosion coating, FBE epoxy powder anti-corrosion coating. Internal epoxy coating is optional for medium conveying pipelines.

Q5: What is the minimum order quantity?

A: For regular stock specifications, MOQ is 1 ton; for customized non-standard diameter and wall thickness pipes, MOQ is 5 tons. We also support sample order for quality testing before bulk order.

Q6: What is the suitable working temperature range for X65QS pipes?

A: Long-term stable working temperature: -40℃ ~ 80℃. It maintains excellent impact toughness and anti-cracking performance in low-temperature and high-pressure sour environments, suitable for most onshore oilfield projects in cold regions.

Q7: Is X65QS seamless pipe same as L450QS?

A: Completely identical. X65 is the US customary grade mark under API 5L standard, while L450QS is the metric grade mark. They have consistent chemical composition, mechanical properties and test standards, and can be used interchangeably in engineering design.
