Q1: What is the difference between API 5L PSL1 and PSL2?
PSL2 has stricter chemical composition limits (lower S/P content), mandatory low-temperature impact test, higher tensile/yield strength stability, and stricter dimensional tolerance standards. It is designed for high-risk, high-pressure, and long-distance critical pipeline projects, while PSL1 is for general conventional pipelines.
Q2: Which coating should I choose, FBE or 3LPE?
FBE coating is more suitable for high-temperature medium transmission, sour oil/gas environments and projects requiring high chemical stability. 3LPE coating has better mechanical protection, anti-abrasion and anti-impact performance, ideal for deeply buried pipelines, complex soil conditions and long-term outdoor service.
Q3: What quality tests will be conducted before delivery?
All pipes undergo strict factory tests including: chemical composition analysis, mechanical performance test (tensile, yield, elongation, impact), hydraulic pressure test, 100% ultrasonic weld flaw detection, coating thickness and adhesion test, and dimensional tolerance inspection. Full test reports and certification documents are provided.
Q4: Can you provide customized sizes and lengths?
Yes. We support non-standard outer diameter, wall thickness, fixed cutting length, special end bevel processing, and customized coating colors and thicknesses according to customer project drawings and requirements.
Q5: What is the service life of coated steel pipes?
Under standard buried and conventional environmental conditions, 3LPE coated pipes have a service life of more than 30 years, and FBE coated pipes can stably serve for 25+ years in high-temperature and corrosive working environments with regular maintenance.
Q6: What is your delivery time and packaging?
Standard inventory sizes can be delivered within 7-10 working days; customized production takes 15-25 working days. Pipes are packed with steel strapping, end plastic pipe caps, and waterproof woven bags to prevent deformation, dust and corrosion during transportation.
