316L Corrosion Resistant Polished Butt Weld Elbow

The 316L polished butt weld elbow is a critical butt-weld fitting for fluid direction change in sanitary piping and corrosive service lines. It is fabricated from low-carbon molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel 316L (1.4404 / UNS S31603). Compared with regular 304 stainless steel fittings, the molybdenum content greatly improves resistance to chloride attack. Its low-carbon composition restricts chromium carbide precipitation during welding, minimizing the risk of post-weld intergranular corrosion. The material maintains stable corrosion resistance without mandatory post-weld solution annealing.

The elbow is hot-pushed and integrally formed, without split weld seams, delivering uniform metallographic structure and consistent mechanical strength. After forming, both inner and outer surfaces go through precision polishing. Two surface finishes are available: satin (brushed) polish and mirror polish. The polished bore achieves low surface roughness, free of pits, pinholes, burrs and dead pockets. It reduces fluid friction loss, prevents media adhesion and residue buildup, and simplifies cleaning. It is fully compatible with CIP (Clean-in-Place) and SIP (Sterilize-in-Place) cycles for sanitary process requirements.

Sanitary Polished Finish: Smooth inner surface without dead zones, inhibiting microbial growth and media retention, complying with sanitary standards for food and pharmaceutical industries.

Stable Weldability: Low-carbon 316L keeps corrosion resistance intact in the heat-affected zone, suitable for GTAW argon butt welding.

High Integral Strength: Hot-pushed one-piece construction, no secondary splice seams, good pressure resistance, impact resistance and thermal fatigue resistance.

Complete Size Portfolio: Multiple radii, angles and schedules available, directly butt weldable with matching stainless seamless / welded pipes, tees, reducers and flanges.

Traceable Material: Material test certificates (EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 optional) and PMI positive material identification available to guarantee material authenticity.
