Excellent Weld Quality:‌ The stable SAW process produces consistent, high-integrity welds with low defect probability.‌‌

Superior Mechanical Properties:‌ Through TMCP and normalizing treatments, the pipes offer high strength, good low-temperature toughness, and controlled yield-to-tensile ratio (e.g., below 0.85), enhancing strain-based design capability for challenging environments.‌‌

Comprehensive Quality Control:‌ Production adheres strictly to API 5L standards. Quality assurance includes rigorous chemical composition analysis, mechanical property testing (tensile, impact), and non-destructive examination (UT, ET). High-grade products often employ Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT). Crucially, each pipe undergoes a mandatory hydrostatic pressure test, which cannot be substituted by NDE according to API standards.‌‌

Low Residual Stress:‌ The full-length expansion process effectively minimizes and uniformly distributes internal stress, helping to prevent stress corrosion cracking.‌‌

 

Surface Coatings

To enhance durability in various environments, LSAW pipes can be supplied with protective coatings.

Common options include Black painting, Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE), 3-layer Polyethylene (3PE), 3-layer Polypropylene (3PP),

coal tar epoxy, and bitumen coating.‌
