The production of API 5L Grade B PSL2 LSAW Steel Pipe involve a rigorous sequence of steps designed to maximize strength and integrity:

Plate Preparation:‌ High-quality carbon steel plates undergo ultrasonic testing to detect any internal defects before processing .

Forming (JCOE):‌ The steel plate is progressively formed into a "J," then "C," and finally an "O" shape using specialized molding machines. This asymptotic bending method minimizes residual stress and maintains excellent pipe geometry .

Pre-Welding:‌ A preliminary weld is applied to hold the shape, often using MAG (Metal Active Gas) welding, ensuring stability before final welding .

Submerged Arc Welding:‌ Both the inner and outer seams are welded using tandem multi-wire submerged arc welding. This technique provides deep penetration and superior weld toughness .

Mechanical Expansion:‌ The pipe undergoes overall mechanical expansion treatment. This critical step reduces internal stress, prevents stress corrosion cracking, and ensures high dimensional accuracy
