Large Diameter ERW Carbon Steel Welded Pipe

Large diameter ERW (Electric Resistance Welding) carbon steel pipe is a type of longitudinal welded pipe, manufactured from premium carbon steel coil and strip. The production process includes continuous roll forming, high-frequency resistance fusion welding, online weld dressing, stress relief heat treatment, sizing and straightening. Different from conventional welded pipes, ERW welding does not use filler metal. The welded joint achieves good metallurgical bonding, and the microstructure of the weld zone is close to the base metal. It features stable pressure bearing capacity, uniform wall thickness, tight outer diameter tolerance and excellent straightness, with low out-of-roundness and low deformation risk.

We offer custom production according to project requirements, covering a wide range of large diameters, various wall thicknesses and cut-to-length sizes. A full set of secondary processing services is available: pipe end beveling, facing, internal & external grinding, non-destructive testing (UT ultrasonic testing, eddy current testing), and hydrostatic pressure test. Multiple anti-corrosion systems are optional: 3PE, 3PP, fusion bonded epoxy coating, hot-dip galvanizing, coal tar epoxy, IPN8710 drinking-water grade coating, to meet different service conditions for buried, above-ground and underwater pipelines.

Reliable mechanical performance The strength of weld and base metal is well matched. The pipe has good resistance to internal pressure and external earth load. It can withstand soil overburden, water impact and minor ground settlement, resisting leakage and cracking during long-term buried service.

High dimensional accuracy for easy installation Strict control on OD, wall thickness and length tolerance. Well-finished pipe ends simplify butt welding on site, save installation time and reduce rework.

Custom anti-corrosion solutions for extended service life Special coatings are selected for water and wastewater applications. Drinking-water grade coatings are non-toxic and harmless to water quality. Heavy-duty coatings resist corrosion from sewage, slurry and humid soil.

Flexible delivery & competitive cost Compared with seamless pipe and LSAW pipe, large diameter ERW pipe has shorter lead time and better cost performance for bulk infrastructure orders. Standard sizes are available from stock, while special dimensions can be customized.

Strict quality control Online inspection throughout production. Welds are sampled for 100% NDT and each pipe undergoes hydrostatic testing to eliminate hidden defects such as cold welds, preventing pipe burst and leakage in operation.
